There is less than a month to go until the baby is born. We are still laboring over the name of the baby (sorry, it is the english major in me). We have narrowed down the babies name to probably Olivia or Lucy. But, don't hold me to that it could change radically by the end. It is hard to believe that the end is near. We are hopeful that the end is near because we can't see Emily getting much bigger than she is. She has persistent back pain but other than that I wouldn't know she is pregnant if she didn't have the large tummy. We just feel lucky that she has felt well for most of the time. Emily has a shower soon. We are grateful to Karen Lynn and Nancy Van Mater for putting it together.
I will be heading to Sin City in just over a week to attend the ICSC Conference (International Council of Shopping Centers). This is an annual conference of retail development. It is my first time and we have meetings set up with some clients and some prospective clients. It will be fun. I have never been to the city and am interested to see if it lives up to the hype.
Our summer race is slowing coming together. We have submitted plans to the County and are looking forward to making contacts within the community soon to get the ball rolling. Bloomsday just finished here in Spokane. Bloomsday gets over 40,000 participants each year. Knowing the running community as well as we do has been a big help in getting the event organized. Emily has a neat marketing package for the race which is planned for the fourth of july weekend.
Emily and I have also enjoyed working with the youth in our ward. We have been to the temple twice to do baptisms recently and have a summer full of activities planned.
I am continuing to run and looking for opportunities to race. If anybody knows of short races with limited competition and big purses let me know.
Thanks and love you all.
